Submission Guidelines

All accepted abstracts for the Round Table Oral Presentations, effectively presented at WhatIf’23, are eligible to submission of full-manuscript to the special issue of Hypothesis Historia Periodical, according to the editorial reviewing process of the journal. The details for the submission, including the template for the paper will be available to the authors after the the presentation of the work at the Conference.

We invite authors from all over the world to submit original and unpublished works, which are not under review in any other journal or meeting. The criteria for selection will be originality, significance for the field, methodological soundness and clarity. Priority will be given to multidisciplinary approaches.

In order to submit the paper for the special issue of Hypothesis Historia Periodical, you must submit an abstract for oral presentation and, if accepted, present it at the 3rd International Conference of ‘What if?…’ World History. If you intend just to submit an abstract for oral presentation, the registration at the submission form will suffice. The template for the abstract proposal is available in Microsoft Word format. All oral presentations will be virtual, with online attendance.

Submissions imply the willingness of at least one author to register, attend the conference, and present the paper.

After completing your paper proposal and abstract, in English, submit according to the following guidelines:

  1. Annex the abstract proposal to an email addressed to whatif.2023@fc.up.pt.
  2. Write on the email subject: WhatIf’23 Abstract Submission (First Author’s name)
